Dr. Kane has spent decades working with high net worth families in multiple roles. He has led three single family offices. His work in a global private bank focused on effectively meeting the needs of high net worth families. As a board director of a large international bank he studied serving global families, and their particular challenges. He has provided consulting to families as a licensed professional and has a unique understanding of family needs, interests and the professional services required to fulfill them. He continues to work with wealthy families in an advisory capacity and is Co-Founder and Chairman of the Center for Professional Wellbeing ( www.wellbeingbridge.com ) focused on assisting people to thrive at all stages of their adulthood. His skills and experience have led him to be in demand to address multiple aspects of challenges facing high net worth families in three areas of focus:
- How to establish and operate an effective and efficient single-family office.
- How to handle and manage the human capital and governance issues within a single-family office and the family that are often so critical to its functionality, and
- How to address challenges and aspirations of family members seeking their own identity and authenticity, as they progress through adulthood.
Dr. Kane is known as an empathic listener and critical thinker and is sought out as a speaker on how to address midlife and its importance in adulthood as well as how to address the need for a functional family office. He is an author of an upcoming book called “Three Bridges- Navigating adulthood, enhancing wellbeing and understanding midlife”. Before he led single family offices, he managed HSBC Private Bank’s practice in Southern California and was a board member of East West Bank. Prior to 2002 he was a managing partner at Arthur Andersen.
He is licensed in the UK and USA as a Chartered Accountant(FCA) and CPA, but no longer practices. He is a member of the Harvard Affiliated Institute of Coaching, The International Positive Psychology Association and the International Coaching Federation and is globally certified as a positive psychology coach. As a dual US and UK citizen Dr. Kane has spent years supporting and fostering business interests between the US and UK for which HM The Queen awarded Dr. Kane the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for his services. He gives back to his community and currently chairs the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation.
